Stat. tit. 52, § 52-54","heading":"Common purchasers of oil - Required to purchase -","body":"Discrimination prohibited.\n\nEvery corporation, joint stock company, partnership or other\n\nperson, claiming or exercising the right to carry or transport crude\n\noil or petroleum or any of the products thereof, by pipeline for\n\nhire or otherwise, within the limits of this state, as allowed by,\n\nand upon compliance with the requirements of this article, as owner,\n\nlessee, licensee, or by virtue of any other right or claim, which is\n\nengaged in the business of purchasing crude oil or petroleum\n\ntherein, shall be deemed a common purchaser thereof, and shall\n\npurchase all of the petroleum in the vicinity of, or which may be\n\nreasonably reached by its pipelines, or gathering branches, without\n\ndiscrimination in favor of one producer or one person as against\n\nanother, and shall fully perform all the duties of a common\n\npurchaser; but if it shall be unable to perform the same, or shall\n\nbe legally excusable from purchasing and transporting all of the\n\npetroleum produced, then it shall purchase and transport petroleum\n\nfrom each person and producer ratably, in proportion to the average\n\ndaily production; and such common purchasers are hereby expressly\n\nprohibited from discriminating in price or amount for like grades of\n\noil, or facilities as between producers or persons; and in the event\n\nsuch purchaser is likewise a producer, it is hereby prohibited from\n\ndiscriminating in favor of its own production, or storage, or\n\nproduction or storage in which it may be interested, directly or\n\nindirectly in whole or in part, and its own production and storage\n\nshall be treated as that of any other person or producer.","path":["OK Code","Title 52"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os52.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"78bc4362f1c4773417b0073e6867761bdba13496ad4b5c3f6126b7339f0334fd","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-52-52-53","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-52-52-548"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
