Stat. tit. 52, § 52-86.1","heading":"Definitions","body":"For the purposes of this act:\n\n1. \"Commission\" means the Corporation Commission;\n\n2. “Person” includes any individual, copartnership,\n\ncorporation, common law or statutory trust or association of\n\nwhatever character;\n\n3. “Common source of supply\" comprises and includes that area\n\nwhich is underlaid or which, from geological or other scientific\n\ndata, or from drilling operations, or other evidence, appears to be\n\nunderlaid, by a common accumulation of oil or gas or both. If any\n\nsuch area is underlaid, or appears from geological or other\n\nscientific data, or from drilling operations, or other evidence, to\n\nbe underlaid by more than one common accumulation of oil or gas or\n\nboth, separated from each other by a strata of earth and not\n\nconnected with each other, then such area, as to each said common\n\naccumulation of oil or gas or both, shall be deemed a separate\n\ncommon source of supply;\n\n4. “Owner” means a person who has the right to drill into and\n\nto produce from any common source of supply and to appropriate the\n\nproduction, either for that person or for that person and others;\n\n5. “Oil” means crude petroleum oil, and any other hydrocarbons,\n\nregardless of gravity, which are produced at the well in liquid form\n\nby ordinary production methods;\n\n6. “Gas” means all natural gas, including casinghead gas, and\n\nall other hydrocarbons not defined as oil in paragraph 5 of this\n\nsection;\n\n7. “Producer” means any person who, along or in association\n\nwith another person or persons, shall have the right to drill into\n\nand produce from, or who has any interest in production from, any\n\ncommon source of supply in this state;\n\n8. “Operator” means any producer of oil or gas who has drilled\n\na well or wells into a common source of supply and is engaged in\n\noperating the well or wells for the purpose of producing oil or gas\n\ntherefrom;\n\n9. “Taker” includes any person, who, acting alone, or jointly\n\nwith any person or persons, is directly or indirectly purchasing or\n\ntransporting by any means whatsoever or otherwise removing oil or\n\ngas from any common source of supply in this state; and\n\n10. “Hearing” means any proceeding before an Administrative Law\n\nJudge, Appellate Referee or the Corporation Commission en banc,\n\nafter notice and opportunity to be heard, by which the Commission\n\nmay exercise its authority under Chapter 3 of this title and as set\n\nforth in the Rules of Practice of the Commission.
