Stat. tit. 52, § 52-98","heading":"Powers of Commission - Marshal of Commission","body":"In all matters pertaining to the making, issuing and enforcement\n\nof its orders, rules and regulations made under the provisions of\n\nthis act, the Commission shall have and exercise all of the\n\nfollowing powers and authority; to wit (1) Of visitation and of a\n\ncourt of record; (2) To administer oaths; (3) To compel attendance\n\nof witnesses; (4) To compel the production of books and records; (5)\n\nTo punish for contempt any person guilty of any disrespectful or\n\ndisorderly conduct in the presence of the Commission while in\n\nsession; (6) To punish as for contempt any disobedience or violation\n\nof the provisions of this act and of any of its orders, rules,\n\nregulations, and judgments made or rendered by it under and in\n\npursuance of the provisions of this act; (7) To enforce the\n\nprovisions of this act, and compliance with any of its orders,\n\nrules, regulations or judgments by appropriate process, and by shut\n\ndown orders, ordering and directing the shutting down or\n\ndiscontinuance of production of oil from any well or wells of or\n\noperated by the offender with respect to which complaint has been\n\nmade; and by orders or writs remedial or otherwise necessary or\n\nproper, to carry into effect its orders, rules and regulations; (8)\n\nTo appoint or designate one of its agents or employees or one of the\n\ndeputies to the Proration Umpire to act as Marshal of the\n\nCommission, who shall serve as such Marshal during its pleasure\n\nwithout additional compensation for such services, and who shall\n\nattend the sessions of the Commission, and when directed by it shall\n\nserve and execute orders, subpoenas, commitments and other process\n\nissuing from it.\n\nAdded by 1933, c. 131, p. 285, § 15, emerg. eff.
