Stat. tit. 53, § 53-163","heading":"Council - Membership - Tenure - Name change","body":"The State Arts Council of Oklahoma is hereby re-created and\n\nrenamed the Oklahoma Arts Council. The Council shall consist of\n\nfifteen (15) members appointed by the Governor with the approval of\n\nthe State Senate. Members shall be individuals who have a real and\n\nactive interest in the arts and an understanding of the value of\n\nthese pursuits to our society.\n\nThe term of office of each member shall be three (3) years\n\nbeginning July 1 of the year of appointment, or until a successor\n\nhas been appointed and qualified for the office. The Governor shall\n\nappoint five members on or before July 1 of each year. A vacancy\n\nshall be filled for the remainder of the term only. No person may\n\nbe appointed to the Council for more than two consecutive terms.\n\nThe name prescribed by this section shall not affect in any\n\nmanner whatsoever any legal relationships, bonds, contracts,\n\nsupervisory authority of the Council, title to property,\n\nobligations, or any other phase or aspect of the legal status of the\n\nCouncil for any purpose, except that the Council shall be referred\n\nto as the \"Oklahoma Arts Council\" in all current and future\n\nreferences to the Council.\n\nSupplies, including but not limited to letterheads, which on the\n\neffective date of this section carry or are labeled with the name\n\n\"State Arts Council of Oklahoma\" shall be utilized after the\n\neffective date of this section until such supplies are depleted.\n\nAny new supplies ordered for use after the effective date of this\n\nsection shall bear the name \"Oklahoma Arts Council\".
