There is hereby re-created until July 1, 2013, in accordance\n\nwith the provisions of the Oklahoma Sunset Law, a board to be\n\ndesignated as the “Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame Board”. The Board\n\nshall be composed of seven (7) members who shall be appointed by the\n\nGovernor with the advice and consent of the Senate. Of the initial\n\nmembers appointed, two shall serve for two (2) years, two shall\n\nserve for four (4) years, and three shall serve for six (6) years as\n\nthe Governor may direct. After the initial appointment, all members\n\nshall serve six - year terms. Selection of members shall be made\n\nfrom those individuals who have shown a sincere desire to recognize\n\nOklahoma’s contribution to music.\n\nB. The Board shall elect a chair and vice-chair from among the\n\nmembership to serve for one (1) year. Members of the Board shall\n\nnot be compensated for their services, but each member shall be\n\nentitled to reimbursement in accordance with the State Travel\n\nReimbursement Act for expenses incurred in attending Board meetings.\n\nThe Board shall meet quarterly and at such other times as its rules\n\nmay prescribe. A majority of the members appointed shall constitute\n\na quorum for transaction of business. The Board may appoint and fix\n\nthe salaries and duties of an executive secretary or director and\n\nsuch staff as may be necessary for the performance of its duties,\n\npurposes and functions.\n\nC. It shall be the function and main purpose of the Board to\n\nhonor those, living or dead, who, by achievement or service, have\n\nmade outstanding and lasting contributions to music in Oklahoma or\n\nelsewhere. The Board may adopt such rules as may be needed to carry\n\nout its duties, purposes and functions. Also, it may conduct\n\nsurveys and polls and may appoint such committees and\n\nrepresentatives as it may determine necessary or desirable.\n\nD. The Board shall be responsible for selecting a suitable site\n\nand/or facility in Muskogee, Oklahoma, which shall be dedicated to\n\nthe research, archiving and display of Oklahoma’s musical heritage\n\nand the individuals contributing to such heritage.\n\nE. The Board may:\n\n1. Solicit and accept donations, contributions and gifts of\n\nmoney and property;\n\n2. Expend funds donated or contributed for its support;\n\n3. Acquire and hold real estate or interest therein or personal\n\nproperty in its own name; and\n\n4.
