Effective July 1, 2016, all property of the Will Rogers\n\nMemorial Commission including, but not limited to, the property\n\nspecified in Sections 45 and 47.8 of Title 53 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes, is hereby transferred to the Oklahoma Historical Society\n\nand shall be under the governance of the Oklahoma Historical\n\nSociety.\n\nB. All Commission personnel, in both the classified and\n\nunclassified service of the State Merit System of Personnel\n\nAdministration, who are assigned as of June 30, 2016, including\n\nrelated liabilities for sick leave, annual leave, holidays,\n\nunemployment benefits and workers' compensation benefits accruing\n\nprior to July 1, 2016, to such personnel shall be transferred as of\n\nJuly 1, 2016, to the Oklahoma Historical Society. To the extent\n\npossible, the Oklahoma Historical Society shall ensure that the\n\nemployees retain pay and benefits, including longevity, dependent\n\ninsurance benefits, seniority, rights and other privileges and\n\nbenefits.\n\nC. Appropriate conveyances and other documents shall be\n\nexecuted by July 1, 2016, to effectuate the transfer of the Will\n\nRogers Memorial Commission.\n\nD. The Office of Management and Enterprise Services shall\n\ndetermine the amount of funds from available budgetary resources for\n\nthe Will Rogers Memorial Commission, including any appropriated\n\nfunds, revolving funds or sinking funds, that should be transferred\n\non July 1, 2016, from the Will Rogers Memorial Commission to the\n\nOklahoma Historical Society to continue operation of the Memorial\n\nfor the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016. The Director of the\n\nOffice of Management and Enterprise Services is authorized and\n\ndirected to coordinate and administer the funds transfer. The funds\n\ntransferred to the Oklahoma Historical Society shall not be subject\n\nto any budgetary limits that may have attached to the funds when the\n\nfunds were appropriated to the Commission. From the effective date\n\nof this act through June 30, 2016, the Commission shall not spend or\n\nencumber more than the funds budgeted for that period without prior\n\napproval of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services.\n\nE. The Oklahoma Historical Society may establish appropriate\n\nfunds and accounts, including a revolving fund in the Office of\n\nManagement and Enterprise Services for servicing the fiscal\n\noperations of the Memorial. Such funds and accounts shall be\n\nsubject to the direct supervision, management and control of the\n\nOklahoma Historical Society.\n\nF. An employee transferred pursuant to the provisions of this\n\nact who is a member of the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement\n\nSystem shall retain such membership and all service credit and other\n\nbenefits associated therewith.\n\nG. 1. The Oklahoma Historical Society shall succeed to any\n\ncontractual rights and responsibilities the Commission has incurred\n\non behalf of the Memorial.\n\n2. The Oklahoma Historical Society and the Commission shall\n\nexecute all necessary documents to memorialize the assignment to the\n\nOklahoma Historical Society of all rights, responsibilities and\n\nobligations under any and all contracts the Commission has entered\n\ninto relating to operation of any part of the Memorial as provided\n\nin this section. The Oklahoma Historical Society shall execute any\n\ndocuments necessary to memorialize acceptance of such assignment.\n\nIn the absence of memorializing documents or conveyances, the\n\ntransfers including all the assignments shall occur by operation of\n\nlaw.\n\nH. The rules of the Commission that are in effect on July 1,\n\n2016, shall be enforceable by the Oklahoma Historical Society until\n\nthe Oklahoma Historical Society establishes rules or until January\n\n1, 2018, whichever occurs earlier.","path":["OK Code","Title 53"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os53.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"bfcf940d6fb199855f0fabac6e7b11a0700c75185a7fef011851dddb6b500876","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-53-53-417","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-53-53-46"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
