The Oklahoma Historical Society, on behalf of the Will\n\nRogers Memorial, may:\n\n1. Construct and operate a comprehensive research library to\n\nhouse all Will Rogers memorabilia, including, but not limited to,\n\nwritings, books, periodicals, sound reproductions, film\n\nreproductions and related materials, published or unpublished, for\n\nthe purposes of creating, preserving and maintaining a research\n\ncenter for all of the Will Rogers material contemplated hereunder or\n\nany material received in the future as well as kindred collections\n\non the site now provided by the Will Rogers family at or near the\n\ntown of Claremore;\n\n2. In the administration of the Will Rogers Memorial, maintain\n\nor lease to a third party, an outlet for the sale to the public of\n\nsuch items as shall, in the judgment of the Oklahoma Historical\n\nSociety or the lessee, be appropriate for sale, including, but not\n\nlimited to, literature, in book or pamphlet form, brochures,\n\nperiodicals, books, artifacts, reproductions of Will Rogers\n\nmemorabilia and statuary; and\n\n3. Maintain donation receptacles for the purpose of the\n\ncollection of voluntary donations to the Will Rogers Memorial.\n\nFunds donated to the Will Rogers Memorial shall be deposited in the\n\nWill Rogers Memorial Revolving Fund.\n\nB. The proceeds of the sale of any material referred to in this\n\nsection or payments received pursuant to a lease as authorized by\n\nthis section shall be deposited in the Will Rogers Memorial\n\nRevolving Fund, for the purposes of defraying the expenses of the\n\noperation of the outlet for sale and for such purposes as shall in\n\nthe opinion of the Oklahoma Historical Society be necessary and\n\nappropriate, including, but not limited to, scholarships, awards and\n\nprizes for educational purposes, so long as the same pertains to and\n\nis in conformity with the uses and purposes of the Memorial.","path":["OK Code","Title 53"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os53.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2d23008c2b6dbd2b6b9db91899ec5124046ffd5cdb5674ecac6dccae7c3576d9","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-53-53-47.3","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-53-53-47.4a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
