Stat. tit. 53, § 53-5.2b","heading":"Authorization to transfer ownership of historic","body":"properties\n\nThe Oklahoma Historical Society is hereby authorized to transfer\n\nownership of historic properties, both real and tangible, to\n\nappropriate organizations or groups who agree to maintain the\n\nproperties in the best interest of historic preservation and who pay\n\nfair market value for such property. Notwithstanding Section 5.2a\n\nof Title 53 of the Oklahoma Statutes, when property by the Society\n\nis declared surplus, or is determined to be beyond the means of the\n\nSociety to maintain properly, the Society shall first offer the\n\nproperty for sale at fair market value to the original donor, even\n\nif a reversionary clause is not included in the gift agreement. If\n\na donor cannot be identified, the property may be offered for sale\n\nat fair market value to an appropriate not-for-profit organization\n\nor a federally recognized Indian tribe that agrees to maintain the\n\nproperty through a formal written contract which provides for\n\ncompensation, and may include in-kind, in the form of maintenance\n\nand preservation agreements. The process for the sale and transfer\n\nof title shall originate with the Oklahoma Historical Society Board\n\nof Directors.
