Stat. tit. 56, § 56-1010.22","heading":"Establishment of program – Services to be offered –","body":"Target population.\n\nA. The Department of Human Services shall establish a program\n\nthrough which health care providers and members of the public can\n\nobtain information about manufacturer-sponsored prescription drug\n\nassistance programs and shall provide such information to\n\npharmacies, physicians and other appropriate health care providers,\n\nand to the general public. The Department shall ensure that the\n\nprogram has staff available who can, at a minimum:\n\n1. Determine whether a pharmaceutical program is offered for\n\nthe drug or drugs;\n\n2. Determine whether a person is eligible for assistance\n\nthrough a pharmaceutical program; and\n\n3. Assist a person to make application to and enroll in a\n\npharmaceutical assistance program.\n\nB. Initial implementation of the program shall target senior\n\ncitizens and shall utilize the existing toll-free Senior Info-Line\n\ntelephone number for senior citizen services.\n\nC. The Department shall implement additional strategies,\n\nsubject to available resources and the recommendations of the\n\nOklahoma Pharmacy Connection Council, to improve access to\n\nprescription drugs for citizens who have no or inadequate health\n\ninsurance or other resources for the purchase of medically necessary\n\nprescription drugs.\n\nD. The Department may apply for and accept grants or gifts and\n\nmay enter into contracts with other state agencies or private\n\norganizations to assist with the implementation of the Oklahoma\n\nPharmacy Connection Program including, but not limited to,\n\ncontracts, gifts or grants from pharmaceutical manufacturers to\n\nassist with the direct costs of the program, and take such other\n\naction as necessary and appropriate to accomplish the purposes of\n\nand implement the provisions of the Oklahoma Pharmacy Connection\n\nProgram.\n\nE. The Department of Human Services shall notify pharmaceutical\n\ncompanies doing business in Oklahoma of the Oklahoma Pharmacy\n\nConnection Program. Any pharmaceutical company that does business\n\nin this state and that offers a pharmaceutical assistance program\n\nshall notify the Department of Human Services of the existence of\n\nthe program, the drugs covered by the program, and all information\n\nnecessary to apply for assistance under the program.","path":["OK Code","Title 56"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os56.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2b656151ffdff3207503994199606b9a6710785489ba99b0a890d58566bcdae4","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-56-56-1010.21","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-56-56-1010.8a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
