Stat. tit. 56, § 56-163","heading":"County boards - Appointment - Duties","body":"The Commission may appoint in each county a county board\n\nconsisting of either three, five, or seven members, the majority of\n\nwhom shall constitute a quorum. These members shall serve without\n\nsalary at the pleasure of the Commission. No candidate for office\n\nnor any elective officer shall serve as a member of the county\n\nboard. Members of the Legislature and any elective official of the\n\nState of Oklahoma shall be disqualified to recommend for appointment\n\nany member of the county board.\n\nIt shall be the duty of the county departments to:\n\n(a) Administer the provision of this act within their respective\n\ncounties, subject to the rules and regulations prescribed by the\n\nCommission pursuant to the provisions of this act;\n\n(b) Report to the Commission at such times and in such manner\n\nand form as the Commission may from time to time direct.\n\nAdded by State Question No. 226, Initiative Petition No. 155, § 3,\n\nadopted July 7, 1936.
