The Department may also seek ways to receive\n\nfor distribution to patrons donated packaged or nonperishable food\n\nas well as natural fresh foods such as fruits and vegetables with no\n\nrequirements for sites to provide overnight storage.\n\nThe State Department of Education shall promulgate rules to\n\nprevent food waste in public school cafeterias and shall develop\n\npolicies for redistributing leftover foods to students in need.
