Stat. tit. 56, § 56-176.1","heading":"Investigation or study involving custody, placement or","body":"adoption of children - Fee.\n\nIf the district court requests or orders the Department of Human\n\nServices to perform any investigation or study involving the\n\ncustody, placement, adoption, or other pertinent matter, with regard\n\nto a child or children with whom the Department is not otherwise\n\ninvolved, the Department may charge a reasonable sliding scale fee,\n\nsubject to standards promulgated by the Commission for Human\n\nServices. The court shall specify the party or parties responsible\n\nfor payment of such a fee. Failure to obey the order to pay the fee\n\nmay be punished as contempt. The Department may also recover the\n\nfee as is provided by law for the recovery of a debt.
