Stat. tit. 56, § 56-238.2","heading":"Assignment of earnings to be honored by employer -","body":"Release from liability.\n\nAny person, firm, corporation, association, political\n\nsubdivision or department of the state employing a person owing a\n\nsupport debt or obligation shall honor, according to its terms, a\n\nduly executed assignment of earnings presented by the Director as a\n\nplan to satisfy or retire a support debt or obligation. This\n\nrequirement to honor the assignment of earnings and the assignment\n\nof earnings itself shall be applicable whether said earnings are to\n\nbe paid presently or in the future and shall continue in force and\n\neffect until released in writing by the Director. Payment of money\n\npursuant to an assignment of earnings presented by the Director\n\nshall serve as full acquittance under any contract of employment,\n\nand the state warrants and represents it shall defend and hold\n\nharmless such action taken pursuant to said assignment of earnings.\n\nThe Director shall be released from liability for improper receipt\n\nof monies under an assignment of earnings upon return of any monies\n\nso received.","path":["OK Code","Title 56"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os56.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d6b597ded789d914c968c8967acd2d7c0a1e9301020cb662f7efbdb66ea2a826","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-56-56-238.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-56-56-238.3a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
