Stat. tit. 56, § 56-3002.7","heading":"Definitions - Options Counseling for Long-term Care","body":"Program - Consultation.\n\nA. As used in the Oklahoma Options Counseling for Long-term\n\nCare Program Act:\n\n1. “Long-term care facility” means a nursing facility or\n\nassisted living facility;\n\n2. “Options counseling for long-term care” means the process of\n\nproviding services pursuant to the Oklahoma Options Counseling for\n\nLong-term Care Program within the Aging and Disability Resource\n\nConsortium (ADRC); and\n\n3. “Representative” means a family member, attorney, hospital\n\nsocial worker, or any other person chosen by an individual to act on\n\nbehalf of the individual:\n\na. seeking a long-term care consultation, or\n\nb. admitted to a long-term care program or facility.\n\nB. The Options Counseling for Long-term Care Program is hereby\n\ncreated within the Department of Human Services Aging Services\n\nDivision and administered within the Aging Services Division Aging\n\nand Disability Resource Consortium.\n\nC. Subject to available funding, the Options Counseling for\n\nLong-term Care Program, through its partner community agencies,\n\nshall provide individuals or their representatives, or both, with\n\nlong-term care options consultation by phone or in person, which\n\nshall include at a minimum the following:\n\n1. A basic review of an individual’s need for information;\n\n2. A review of appropriate long-term care options and costs, if\n\navailable;\n\n3. A review of providers who accept either public or private\n\npayment or both public and private payment for long-term care\n\nservices;\n\n4. A summary of factors to consider when choosing among the\n\navailable programs, services, and benefits; and\n\n5. A summary of opportunities and methods for maximizing the\n\nindependence and self-reliance of the individual, including support\n\nservices provided by the family and friends of the individual.\n\nD. Options counseling for long-term care under this section may\n\nbe provided at any time, whether before or after the individual who\n\nis the subject of a long-term care consultation has been admitted to\n\na long-term facility.\n\nE.
