There is hereby created until July 1, 2010, the\n\n“Compassionate Care Task Force”. The Compassionate Care Task Force\n\nshall be composed of the following members:\n\n1. The Attorney General, or a designee;\n\n2. The Commissioner of the State Department of Health, or a\n\ndesignee;\n\n3. The Director of the Department of Human Services, or a\n\ndesignee;\n\n4. The Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health and\n\nSubstance Abuse Services, or a designee;\n\n5. The Director of the Office of Faith-Based and Community\n\nInitiatives, as created under the direction of the Secretary of\n\nHealth and Human Services in July 2000, or a designee;\n\n6. Two bipartisan members of the Oklahoma House of\n\nRepresentatives appointed by the Speaker of the Oklahoma House of\n\nRepresentatives;\n\n7. Two bipartisan members of the Oklahoma State Senate\n\nappointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Oklahoma State Senate;\n\n8. One member of the Oklahoma City-County Health Department;\n\nand\n\n9. One member of the Tulsa City-County Health Department.\n\nB. 1. Members shall serve at the pleasure of their appointing\n\nauthorities. A vacancy on the Task Force shall be filled by the\n\noriginal appointing authority.\n\n2. A majority of the members of the Task Force shall constitute\n\na quorum. A majority of the members present at a meeting may act\n\nfor the Task Force.\n\n3. The chair shall be appointed by the Speaker of the Oklahoma\n\nHouse of Representatives on or before August 1, 2008. The vice-\n\nchair shall be appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the\n\nOklahoma State Senate on or before August 1, 2008.\n\n4. The chair shall convene the first meeting of the Task Force\n\non or before September 1, 2008. The Task Force shall meet as often\n\nas necessary.\n\n5. Task Force members employed by the state shall be reimbursed\n\nfor travel expenses related to their service on the Task Force by\n\ntheir respective agencies pursuant to the provisions of the State\n\nTravel Reimbursement Act. Legislative members of the Task Force\n\nshall be reimbursed for their necessary travel expenses incurred in\n\nthe performance of their duties in accordance with Section 456 of\n\nTitle 74 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nC. Staff of the State Department of Health shall serve as\n\nprimary staff for the Task Force. The Task Force may use the\n\nexpertise and services of the staffs of the Oklahoma House of\n\nRepresentatives and the Oklahoma State Senate and may, if necessary,\n\nseek the advice and services of experts in the field as well as\n\nother necessary professional and clerical staff.\n\nD. All departments, officers, agencies and employees of this\n\nstate shall cooperate with the Task Force in fulfilling its duties\n\nand responsibilities including, but not limited to, providing any\n\ninformation, records, or reports requested by the Task Force.\n\nE. The meetings of the Task Force shall be subject to the\n\nOklahoma Open Meeting Act.\n\nF. The Compassionate Care Task Force shall determine and make\n\nrecommendations regarding:\n\n1. The role of charitable, voluntary, and faith-based\n\norganizations in the Oklahoma health care system;\n\n2. The role of charitable, voluntary, and faith-based\n\norganizations in community-based health education, advocacy and\n\ndirect care for the uninsured;\n\n3. The role of charitable, voluntary, and faith-based\n\norganizations in improving access to health care and ensuring\n\naffordable and stable health care coverage;\n\n4. The level of collaboration between charitable, voluntary,\n\nand faith-based organizations and public health agencies in the\n\nstate;\n\n5. The utilization of health-related services currently being\n\nprovided by charitable, voluntary, and faith-based organizations in\n\nthe state; and\n\n6. The role of charitable, voluntary, and faith-based\n\norganizations and the pandemic influenza preparedness plan for\n\nOklahoma.\n\nG. The Compassionate Care Task Force shall provide a progress\nsed organizations and public health agencies in the\n\nstate;\n\n5. The utilization of health-related services currently being\n\nprovided by charitable, voluntary, and faith-based organizations in\n\nthe state; and\n\n6. The role of charitable, voluntary, and faith-based\n\norganizations and the pandemic influenza preparedness plan for\n\nOklahoma.\n\nG.
