Stat. tit. 56, § 56-329","heading":"Section of Services to the Blind - Transfer to Commission","body":"for Rehabilitation Services - Merit system - Functions of Section.\n\nA. The Section of Services to the Blind of the Oklahoma\n\nDepartment of Career and Technology Education, including all\n\npersonnel thereof and all property and assets belonging to such\n\nSection, is hereby transferred to, and shall be a section of, the\n\nCommission for Rehabilitation Services; and all powers, duties and\n\nresponsibilities of the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology\n\nEducation relating to services to the blind shall hereafter be\n\nexercised by the Commission for Rehabilitation Services. Employees\n\nof the Section who are members of the Teachers' Retirement System of\n\nOklahoma and who continue as employees of the Section after such\n\ntransfer may retain their membership in such Teachers' Retirement\n\nSystem. The Governor may, by an Executive Order, place the Section\n\nand employees thereof under the Merit System of Personnel\n\nAdministration.\n\nB. The Section of Services to the Blind shall provide, to blind\n\nand visually impaired persons, rehabilitation services,\n\nrehabilitation teaching services, optical aids, and special library\n\nservices, including Braille and recorded books; administer the\n\nvending facility program maintained for blind and visually impaired\n\npersons, and the merchandising fund; plan and develop a\n\ncomprehensive rehabilitation center and services for blind and\n\nvisually impaired persons; and coordinate its services with other\n\npublic agencies and private agencies providing services to the\n\nblind.","path":["OK Code","Title 56"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os56.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"463b86531b5309c692f575b32e5ff84bf4a57a73dd8441636fc37d084e179fcd","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-56-56-328","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-56-56-329.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
