Beginning January 1, 1994, no adult companion home shall be\n\noperated or maintained unless certified by the Department of Human\n\nServices. No new adult companion home may be established without\n\nthe prior approval of the Department, which shall be granted only\n\nafter the Department is satisfied that such adult companion home\n\nwill meet known needs for the services proposed to be provided and\n\nthat the adult companion home will meet minimum standards.\n\nB. An application for a certificate shall be made on forms\n\nprescribed by the Department. Before issuing a certificate, the\n\nDepartment shall investigate the activities and standards of care of\n\nthe applicant and, if satisfied that the applicant meets the\n\nrequirements as provided in the Oklahoma Adult Companion Home\n\nCertification Act, a certificate shall be issued. A provisional\n\ncertificate may be issued to any applicant whose services are needed\n\nbut which is temporarily unable to conform to all the rules of the\n\nDepartment. All certificates shall be in force for one (1) year\n\nfrom date of issuance unless sooner revoked as authorized by the\n\nOklahoma Adult Companion Home Certification Act, and shall be\n\nreissued annually upon application.
