Stat. tit. 56, § 56-606","heading":"Assistance payments","body":"If an application for family support assistance pursuant to the\n\nOklahoma Family Support Act is approved by the Department of Human\n\nServices and Developmental Disabilities Services Division:\n\n1. A family support assistance payment shall be paid to the\n\nparent or legal guardian on behalf of a family member and shall be\n\nconsidered a benefit to the family member;\n\n2. The family support assistance payment shall be used to meet\n\nthe special needs of the family associated with the family member.\n\nExcept as otherwise provided in the Oklahoma Family Support Act,\n\nthis assistance payment is intended to complement, not to supplant,\n\npublic assistance or other social service benefits based on economic\n\nneed, available through governmental programs;\n\n3. The amount of the family support assistance payment shall be\n\na maximum of Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) per month. Increases to\n\nthis amount shall be determined annually by legislative\n\nappropriation. In addition, the parent or legal guardian of a\n\nfamily member who is in an out-of-home placement at the time of\n\napplication may receive a one-time, lump-sum advance payment of\n\ntwice the monthly family support assistance amount for the purpose\n\nof meeting the special needs of the family to prepare for the\n\nplacement or return of the family member to in-home care.\n\n4. The parent or legal guardian who receives a family support\n\nassistance payment shall report, in writing, at least the following\n\ninformation to the Department:\n\na. not less than annually, a statement and any supporting\n\ndocumentation requested by the Department that the\n\nfamily support assistance payment was used to meet the\n\nspecial needs of the family,\n\nb. immediately, if the parent or legal guardian requests\n\ntermination of the family support assistance,\n\nc. immediately, upon the occurrence of any event listed\n\nin Section 7 of this act.","path":["OK Code","Title 56"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os56.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"f45afd715dbeb36b5c61dcdd2d07f71fd81974216e19b16480817ea1060733ce","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-56-56-605","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-56-56-607"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
