Stat. tit. 57, § 57-1","heading":"County commissioners - Inspection of jails","body":"County commissioners shall inspect the jails in their respective\n\ncounties at least once each year, and shall fully examine the\n\nhealth, cleanliness and discipline conditions of the jail. The\n\nperson responsible for the administration of such jail shall provide\n\nthe county commissioner with the name, age and basis for\n\nincarceration of each prisoner and if it appears to the\n\ncommissioners that any provisions of law have been violated or\n\nneglected they shall give notice to the district attorney of the\n\ncounty. This inspection shall be in addition to that performed by\n\nthe State Department of Health.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 4603. Amended by Laws 1978, c. 244, § 13, eff.
