Stat. tit. 57, § 57-503","heading":"Board - Creation - Members - Terms - Removal","body":"There is hereby created the State Board of Corrections which\n\nshall be the governing board of the Department of Corrections. The\n\nBoard shall consist of the following nine (9) members:\n\n1. Five members appointed by the Governor;\n\n2. Two members appointed by the Speaker of the House of\n\nRepresentatives; and\n\n3. Two members appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the\n\nSenate.\n\nEach member shall serve at the pleasure of his or her appointing\n\nauthority and may be removed or replaced without cause. Any member\n\nof the Board shall be prohibited from voting on any issue in which\n\nthe member has a direct financial interest.
