Stat. tit. 57, § 57-504","heading":"Board - Officers - Rules and regulations - Travel expenses","body":"- Powers and duties.\n\n(a) The Board shall elect from its members a chairman, vice\n\nchairman and a secretary. It shall adopt rules and regulations for\n\nits government and may adopt an official seal for the Department.\n\nMembers shall be reimbursed for travel expenses, as provided in the\n\nState Travel Reimbursement Act while attending meetings of the Board\n\nor while performing other official duties.\n\n(b) The Board shall have the following powers and duties:\n\n(1) To establish policies for the operation of the Department;\n\n(2) To establish and maintain such institutions as are\n\nnecessary or convenient for the operation of programs for the\n\neducation, training, vocational education and rehabilitation of\n\nprisoners under the jurisdiction of the Department;\n\n(3) To lease, from time to time, without restriction as to\n\nterms, any property which said Board shall determine advisable to\n\nmore fully carry into effect the operation of prison industries;\n\n(4) To acquire, construct, extend, improve, maintain and\n\noperate any and all facilities of all kinds which in the judgment of\n\nthe Board shall be necessary or convenient to foster the prison\n\nindustries program;\n\n(5) To require the Director and any other personnel of the\n\nDepartment, when deemed necessary by the Board, to give bond for the\n\nfaithful performance of their duties;\n\n(6) To appoint and fix the salary of the Director;\n\n(7) To enter into contracts with private prison contractors;\n\nand\n\n(8) To provide training to employees of private prison\n\ncontractors and other governmental entities on a fee basis.","path":["OK Code","Title 57"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os57.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"74a2bc6087d6f790bf171e64f697ef3b379f9de8629fd2fcbb595d1d2c8f2d5f","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-57-57-503","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-57-57-504.7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
