Stat. tit. 57, § 57-506","heading":"Director - Qualifications - Appointment – Removal","body":"There is hereby created the position of Director of Corrections.\n\nThe Director shall be qualified for such position by character,\n\nknowledge, skill, ability, education, training and successful\n\nadministrative experience and shall have five (5) years of\n\nprofessional level work. The Director of Corrections shall be\n\nappointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate\n\nand shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor and may be removed\n\nor replaced without cause. Compensation for the Director shall be\n\ndetermined by the Governor.
