Stat. tit. 57, § 57-507","heading":"Director - Status - Powers and duties","body":"The Director shall be the executive officer of the Department\n\nand shall have the following general powers and duties:\n\n(a) To supervise the activities of the Department and, subject\n\nto the policies established by the Board, to act for the Department\n\nin all matters, except as may be otherwise provided in this act.\n\n(b) To prescribe rules and regulations for the operation of the\n\nDepartment, consistent with the general policies established by the\n\nBoard.\n\n(c) To appoint and fix the duties and salaries of such\n\npersonnel for the Department as may be necessary to administer and\n\ncarry out the provisions of this act. The Department and the\n\nemployees thereof, except the members of the Board and the Director\n\nshall be subject to the provisions of the State Merit System of\n\nPersonnel Administration, but the Governor may by Executive Order\n\nexempt positions therefrom as authorized by Section 802 of Title 74\n\nof the Oklahoma Statutes, except as may be otherwise provided in\n\nthis act.\n\n(d) To accept, use, disburse and administer grants, allotments,\n\ngifts, devises, bequests, appropriations and other monies and\n\nproperty offered or given to the Department, or any component or\n\nagency thereof, by any agency of the federal government or any\n\ncorporation or individual for the use of the Department.","path":["OK Code","Title 57"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os57.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2c9fbe73131d6a68cca7125bcb4b3f8b5c8e429682ca79bb5313e6d8cf29d062","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-57-57-506","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-57-57-508"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
