There is hereby created the Investigations Division within\n\nthe Department of Corrections. The purpose of the Division shall be\n\nto investigate allegations of criminal acts by inmates, offenders or\n\nemployees of the Department, as well as to investigate allegations\n\nof constitutional or policy violations.\n\nB. The Director of the Department of Corrections shall employ\n\nthe proper personnel and adopt the necessary procedures to carry out\n\nthe duties of the Investigations Division and shall appoint a\n\nDirector of the Division who shall administer the activities of the\n\nDivision.\n\nC. The Investigations Division of the Department of Corrections\n\nshall have the jurisdiction and authority to investigate all\n\nallegations of criminal behavior at any facility owned or operated\n\nby the Department, or any private prison facility or other facility\n\nwith which the Department contracts to house inmates from the State\n\nof Oklahoma.\n\nD. The Investigations Division shall have jurisdiction and\n\nauthority to investigate any escape committed by prisoners under the\n\ncustody and control of the Department of Corrections. If it is\n\ndetermined that a prisoner has escaped the custody of the\n\nDepartment, in violation of Section 443 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes, the Department is authorized to issue a warrant for the\n\narrest of the escapee and the warrant shall have the force and\n\neffect of any warrant of arrest issued by a district court in the\n\nstate. Nothing in this section shall affect the authority of a\n\ndistrict attorney to issue an arrest warrant for the escapee.\n\nE. All officers, investigators, agents and immediate\n\nsupervisory staff of listed positions assigned to the Investigations\n\nDivision shall be deemed peace officers and shall possess the powers\n\ngranted by law to peace officers.
