Pursuant to applicable federal law, the State of Oklahoma\n\nassumes both the civil and criminal jurisdiction with respect to all\n\ncriminal offenses and civil causes of actions over Indian Country\n\nland wherein the state has entered into an agreement with the\n\napplicable tribes or other appropriate authority for use of said\n\nland as an inmate work center as established in Section 563 of Title\n\n57 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nB. Upon the expiration, cancellation or other mutual\n\ntermination of the agreement the assumption of both civil and\n\ncriminal jurisdiction shall be deemed withdrawn by operation of law\n\nand the land shall be Indian Country under the exclusive control of\n\nthe Indian tribes and federal authority together and any\n\nimprovements thereon shall inure to the benefit of the tribes.\n\nProvided, that in the event of expiration, cancellation or other\n\nmutual termination, the State of Oklahoma, through the Department of\n\nCorrections shall have twelve (12) months in which to vacate and\n\nrelocate the offenders, unless otherwise extended by the parties.","path":["OK Code","Title 57"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os57.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e9bf47a21d74eadcaf4e846dfd3e134e52b2b0b22cf9618d2afa9ba6b2bcca90","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-57-57-509.4","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-57-57-509.6"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
