Stat. tit. 57, § 57-530","heading":"Receiving center for new prisoners","body":"It is the intent of the State Legislature that all new prisoners\n\nsentenced to the custody of the Department of Corrections will be\n\nprocessed through the Lexington Assessment and Reception Center or\n\nat a place determined by the Director of the Department of\n\nCorrections. The Department of Corrections shall ensure\n\nadministration of a risk and needs assessment, as defined in Section\n\n502 of this title, physical and psychological examinations, mental\n\nhealth and substance abuse screens, inventory vocational skills, and\n\nassess educational and training needs. A risk and needs assessment\n\nshall not be required for any inmate who had a risk and needs\n\nassessment administered by personnel certified by the Department of\n\nMental Health and Substance Abuse Services within six (6) months of\n\nbeing sentenced to the custody of the Department of Corrections.\n\nThe Department of Corrections shall determine initial security and\n\ncustody classifications, plan for immediate or possible future\n\nassignment to an institution, community treatment center or other\n\nalternative to incarceration authorized by law, provide orientation\n\nand instruction with respect to rules and procedures for prisoners,\n\nand perform other such activities deemed necessary by the Department\n\nof Corrections.","path":["OK Code","Title 57"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os57.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"765036ad81db6010010b45dfec8bf7309d9fc0d07ccfc05523a4b68ced39a475","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-57-57-53","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-57-57-530.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
