Stat. tit. 57, § 57-533","heading":"Centralized food buying - Management of agricultural and","body":"livestock services.\n\nThe Director of the Department of Corrections shall develop and\n\npromulgate a policy that will centralize, at the Department of\n\nCorrections, the procurement of all items of food supplies, other\n\nthan fresh food local buys, for all institutions within the\n\nDepartment of Corrections. The Department shall manage all\n\nagricultural and livestock services so the maximum quantity and\n\nquality of fruit, vegetables, herbs, grasses, seeds, meat, poultry,\n\neggs and dairy products are produced for institutional consumption\n\nwith inmate or volunteer labor, which may include, but shall not be\n\nlimited to, any type of work release labor, community or\n\nintermediate sanctions labor, jail labor or otherwise. Any excess\n\nfood or product produced shall be sold at competitive prices to the\n\npublic or private markets or sold or traded with other states or\n\npolitical subdivisions or state and local agencies for goods and\n\nservices beneficial to the Department, this state, its political\n\nsubdivisions, jails or any state or local agency of this state. The\n\nagricultural services division of the Oklahoma State University\n\nshall provide services to the Department for improved land\n\nutilization and product and livestock enhancements at least\n\nannually.
