Stat. tit. 57, § 57-549.2","heading":"Oklahoma Prison Industry Marketing Development Advisory","body":"Task Force.\n\nA. 1. There is hereby created until July 1, 2007, in\n\naccordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma Sunset Law, the\n\nOklahoma Prison Industry Marketing Development Advisory Task Force\n\nfor the purpose of collaborative research, planning and the\n\nproviding of information to the Legislature and cooperative\n\nmarketing associations desiring to make investments into and create\n\nand design joint ventures for the development and advancement of the\n\nproduction, processing, handling and marketing of products grown,\n\nmade or manufactured within correctional settings.\n\n2. The Advisory Task Force shall consist of a representative\n\nfrom each of the following organizations or state agencies selected\n\nby that organization or agency:\n\na. the State Department of Agriculture,\n\nb. the Department of Commerce,\n\nc. Oklahoma State University,\n\nd. Oklahoma University,\n\ne. the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and\n\nTechnology,\n\nf. the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology\n\nEducation,\n\ng. the State Department of Corrections,\n\nh. two appointees selected by the Speaker of the House of\n\nRepresentatives,\n\ni. two appointees selected by the President Pro Tempore\n\nof the Senate, and\n\nj. two appointees selected by the Governor.\n\nAt all times the membership of the Advisory Task Force shall have\n\nrepresented on it at least one member well-versed in each of the\n\nfollowing areas: agricultural economics, marketing, business and\n\nfinance, and production.\n\n3. Each member of the Advisory Task Force initially appointed\n\nshall make his appointment known to the Director of the Department\n\nof Agriculture and the Director of the Department of Commerce by\n\nAugust 1, 1996.\n\n4. Any vacancies in the appointive membership of the Advisory\n\nTask Force shall be filled in the same manner as the original\n\nappointment.\n\nB. Within fifteen (15) days from the initial appointment of\n\nmembership for the Advisory Task Force, the Director of the\n\nDepartment of Agriculture and the Director of the Department of\n\nCommerce shall each appoint one member of the Advisory Task Force to\n\nserve as cochairs. If a vacancy occurs in such office, a new\n\ncochair shall be appointed from the Advisory Task Force in the same\n\nmanner as the original appointment.\n\nC. Other officers may be elected to serve the Advisory Task\n\nForce for terms of office as may be designated by the Advisory Task\n\nForce members. The cochairs of the Advisory Task Force or their\n\ndesignees shall preside at meetings.\n\nD. The Advisory Task Force may meet at such times as may be set\n\nby the cochairs of the Advisory Task Force.\n\nE. Members of the Advisory Task Force shall receive no salary;\n\nhowever, all members of the Advisory Task Force may be reimbursed\n\nfor their actual and necessary travel expenses as follows:\n\n1. Advisory Task Force members employed by the state shall be\n\nreimbursed by their respective employing agency pursuant to the\n\nState Travel Reimbursement Act; and\n\n2. Any other Advisory Task Force member may receive\n\nreimbursement from their appointing authority.\n\nF. A majority of the members appointed to the Advisory Task\n\nForce shall constitute a quorum and a majority present may act for\n\nthe Advisory Task Force.\n\nG. The powers and duties of the Advisory Task Force are to:\n\n1. Conduct a study of the process and procedures for creating\n\nand designing joint ventures for industrial and agricultural\n\nproduction within correctional settings;\n\n2. Provide information to the Legislature relating to the\n\ndesign and creation of agricultural and industrial joint ventures\n\nwithin correctional settings and funding sources for such ventures;\n\nand\n\n3. Work with municipalities, industries, state agencies and\n\nother political subdivisions of this state, other states, the\n\nfederal government, schools of higher education and any other entity\n\nto determine areas of need for the development or expansion of\ne\n\ndesign and creation of agricultural and industrial joint ventures\n\nwithin correctional settings and funding sources for such ventures;\n\nand\n\n3. Work with municipalities, industries, state agencies and\n\nother political subdivisions of this state, other states, the\n\nfederal government, schools of higher education and any other entity\n\nto determine areas of need for the development or expansion of\n\nagricultural and industrial joint ventures within correctional\n\nsettings.\n\nH. The Advisory Task Force shall provide a written progress\n\nreport to the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of\n\nthe House of Representatives on or before March 1 of each year.\n\nI.
