Stat. tit. 57, § 57-56","heading":"Penalty for breaking jail","body":"If any person imprisoned pursuant to a sentence of imprisonment\n\nin a county or city jail, or any person committed to a county or\n\ncity jail for the purpose of detaining him for trial, for any\n\nmisdemeanor or traffic offense, escapes therefrom, either while\n\nactually confined therein or while permitted to be at large as a\n\ntrusty, he shall be punished by confinement in the county jail not\n\nexceeding one (1) year, or by a fine not exceeding One Thousand\n\nDollars ($1,000.00), or by both such fine and imprisonment.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 4594.
