Sections 581 et seq. of this title shall be known and may be\n\ncited as the \"Sex Offenders Registration Act\".\n\nB. The Legislature finds that sex offenders who commit other\n\npredatory acts against children and persons who prey on others as a\n\nresult of mental illness pose a high risk of re-offending after\n\nrelease from custody. The Legislature further finds that the\n\nprivacy interest of persons adjudicated guilty of these crimes is\n\nless important than the state's interest in public safety.
