Each person in charge of a correctional institution from\n\nwhich a person subject to the provisions of the Sex Offenders\n\nRegistration Act, Section 581 et seq. of this title, is released and\n\neach judge who suspends the sentence of a person subject to the\n\nprovisions of the Sex Offenders Registration Act or orders any\n\nprobationary term, including a deferred sentence imposed in\n\nviolation of subsection G of Section 991c of Title 22 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes, for a person subject to the provisions of the Sex\n\nOffenders Registration Act shall prior to discharge or release of\n\nthe person:\n\n1. Explain to the person the duty to register pursuant to the\n\nSex Offenders Registration Act;\n\n2. Require the person to sign a written statement that the duty\n\nto register has been explained and the person understands the duty\n\nto register;\n\n3. Obtain the address at which the person is to reside upon\n\ndischarge or release. The address shall be a physical address, not\n\na post office box; and\n\n4. Forward the information to the Department of Corrections.\n\nB. The Department of Public Safety shall issue written\n\nnotification of the registration requirements of the Sex Offenders\n\nRegistration Act to any person who enters this state from another\n\njurisdiction and makes an initial application for an operator's or\n\nchauffeur's license to operate a motor vehicle in this state.\n\nC. The Department of Corrections shall coordinate with the\n\nAdministrative Office of the Courts in promulgating rules to\n\nestablish other necessary procedures for notifying offenders of the\n\nobligation to register pursuant to the Sex Offenders Registration\n\nAct and procedures for registration of those offenders.\n\nD. The Department of Corrections shall coordinate with\n\nsurrounding states to establish necessary procedures for notifying\n\noffenders that reside in other states but work or attend school\n\nwithin the State of Oklahoma of the obligation to register pursuant\n\nto the Sex Offenders Registration Act and the procedure for\n\nregistration of those offenders.","path":["OK Code","Title 57"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os57.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"400353f03a7ec6c941acdffec3d536dc194513afe21db6a12387bd0956182f6e","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-57-57-584","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-57-57-586"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
