Stat. tit. 57, § 57-627","heading":"Medical and surgical inpatient and outpatient care -","body":"Contracts - Emergencies - Security - Costs.\n\nA. It shall be the responsibility of the Department of\n\nCorrections to provide such medical and surgical inpatient and\n\noutpatient care as may be required by inmates of the Department of\n\nCorrections. The Department may refer to the Oklahoma University\n\nMedical Center, and the Oklahoma University Medical Center shall\n\naccept, those inmates who need services, as determined by the\n\nDepartment of Corrections to be beyond the professional capabilities\n\nof the Department of Corrections.\n\nB. The Department of Corrections may also contract with\n\nproviders of general inpatient hospital services. Any such provider\n\nshall be a hospital as defined in Section 1-701 of Title 63 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes. The Department of Corrections may also contract\n\nwith physicians and other providers of inpatient and outpatient\n\nhealth care services, equipment and health care related products as\n\nmay be necessary for the delivery of health care which is beyond the\n\nprofessional capabilities of the Department of Corrections.\n\nC. When the Department of Corrections determines the medical\n\nnecessity for urgent hospitalization of an inmate, an appropriate\n\ninpatient hospital in close proximity to the correctional facility\n\nshall be used for emergency care and stabilization. The Department\n\nof Corrections is authorized to develop a network of inpatient\n\nhospitals, physicians and other inpatient and outpatient medical\n\nproviders that are capable of providing necessary health care\n\nservices, equipment and other health care related products. Those\n\nhospitals, physicians and other inpatient and outpatient providers\n\nof health care services and products that are in the network\n\nestablished by the Department of Corrections in conjunction with the\n\nOklahoma State and Education Employees Group Insurance Board shall\n\nbe reimbursed according to the current fee schedule established for\n\nthat network. Hospitals and inpatient and outpatient providers that\n\nare out-of-network shall be reimbursed according to the current\n\nOklahoma Medicaid fee schedule.\n\nD. The Department of Corrections shall be responsible for\n\ntransporting to, from, and between hospitals and for providing such\n\nphysical security of inmate consumers as may be required beyond that\n\nsecurity normal to hospital operation. The Department of\n\nCorrections shall immediately remove from the hospital those inmate\n\nconsumers when discharged by the hospital.\n\nE.
