Stat. tit. 58, § 58-122","heading":"Persons entitled to letters of administration","body":"Administration of the estate of a person dying intestate must be\n\ngranted to some one or more of the persons hereinafter mentioned,\n\nand they are respectively entitled thereto in the following order:\n\n1. The surviving husband or wife, or some competent person whom\n\nhe or she may request to have appointed.\n\n2. The children.\n\n3. The father or mother.\n\n4. The brothers or sisters.\n\n5. The grandchildren.\n\n6. The next of kin entitled to share in the distribution of the\n\nestate.\n\n7. The creditors.\n\n8.
