Stat. tit. 58, § 58-3031","heading":"Banks and other financial institutions","body":"Unless the power of attorney otherwise provides, language in a\n\npower of attorney granting general authority with respect to banks\n\nand other financial institutions authorizes the agent to:\n\n1. Continue, modify and terminate an account or other banking\n\narrangement made by or on behalf of the principal;\n\n2. Establish, modify and terminate an account or other banking\n\narrangement with a bank, trust company, savings and loan\n\nassociation, credit union, thrift company, brokerage firm or other\n\nfinancial institution selected by the agent;\n\n3. Contract for services available from a financial\n\ninstitution, including renting a safe deposit box or space in a\n\nvault;\n\n4. Withdraw, by check, order, electronic funds transfer or\n\notherwise, money or property of the principal deposited with or left\n\nin the custody of a financial institution;\n\n5. Receive statements of account, vouchers, notices and similar\n\ndocuments from a financial institution and act with respect to them;\n\n6. Enter a safe deposit box or vault and withdraw or add to the\n\ncontents;\n\n7. Borrow money and pledge as security personal property of the\n\nprincipal necessary to borrow money or pay, renew or extend the time\n\nof payment of a debt of the principal or a debt guaranteed by the\n\nprincipal;\n\n8. Make, assign, draw, endorse, discount, guarantee and\n\nnegotiate promissory notes, checks, drafts and other negotiable or\n\nnonnegotiable paper of the principal or payable to the principal or\n\nthe principal's order, transfer money, receive the cash or other\n\nproceeds of those transactions, and accept a draft drawn by a person\n\nupon the principal and pay it when due;\n\n9. Receive for the principal and act upon a sight draft,\n\nwarehouse receipt or other document of title whether tangible or\n\nelectronic, or other negotiable or nonnegotiable instrument;\n\n10. Apply for, receive and use letters of credit, credit and\n\ndebit cards, electronic transaction authorizations and traveler's\n\nchecks from a financial institution and give an indemnity or other\n\nagreement in connection with letters of credit; and\n\n11.
