Stat. tit. 58, § 58-349","heading":"Duties of the referee - Proceedings","body":"The referee must hear and determine the matter, and make his\n\nreport thereon to the court in which his appointment is entered. The\n\nsame proceedings shall be had in all respects, and the referee shall\n\nhave the same powers, be entitled to the same compensation, and\n\nsubject to the same control as in other cases of reference.
