There is hereby created the Oklahoma Uniform Building\n\nCode Commission which shall consist of thirteen (13) members, eleven\n\nof whom shall be appointed by the Governor with the advice and\n\nconsent of the Senate as follows:\n\na. one member who is a general contractor from a\n\nstatewide organization that represents residential\n\nconstruction,\n\nb. one member who is a general contractor from a\n\nstatewide organization that represents commercial\n\nconstruction,\n\nc. one member who is a contractor from a statewide\n\norganization that represents electrical contractors,\n\nd. one member who is a contractor from a statewide\n\norganization that represents plumbing contractors,\n\ne. one member who is a contractor from a statewide\n\norganization that represents heating and cooling\n\ncontractors,\n\nf. one member who is a licensed electrical engineer from\n\na state-recognized professional engineering firm,\n\ng. one member who is a local-level regulator/inspector\n\nwho is a member of a statewide organization that is\n\nexempt from taxation under federal law and designated\n\npursuant to the provisions of the Internal Revenue\n\nCode of 1986, as amended, 26 U.S.C., Section 170(a),\n\nwho has represented municipalities and had statutory\n\nfunctions for municipalities for at least ten (10)\n\nyears,\n\nh. one member who is a certified building official\n\nemployed by a political subdivision,\n\ni. one member who is a licensed architect from a\n\nstatewide organization that represents architects,\n\nj. one member who is from the insurance industry with\n\nknowledge of building codes and experience in property\n\nloss mitigation, and\n\nk. one member who is a licensed mechanical engineer from\n\na state-recognized professional engineering firm.\n\n2. The members shall be appointed for staggered terms of four\n\n(4) years. A full term of office for purposes of determining term\n\nlimits provided in subsection C of this section shall be the\n\ncompletion of a full four-year term of appointment.\n\nB. The remaining two members of the Commission shall be the\n\nState Fire Marshal, or a designee, and an appointee of the\n\nConstruction Industries Board.\n\nC. Appointed members shall continue in office until a successor\n\nis appointed by the Governor, notwithstanding the term limitations.\n\nNo appointed member shall serve more than two consecutive full four-\n\nyear terms; provided, such a member shall be eligible to serve until\n\na successor is appointed, and such member may be reappointed after a\n\ntwo-year absence from the Commission. The Governor shall fill all\n\nvacancies and unexpired terms in the same manner as the original\n\nappointment of the member whose position is to be filled. No\n\ninitial appointment to a term of less than four (4) years or any\n\npartial-term appointment to fill a vacancy or unexpired term of\n\nanother member shall be counted for purposes of determining term\n\nlimits. An appointed member may be removed by the Governor for\n\ncause.\n\nD.
