Stat. tit. 59, § 59-1003","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in The Plumbing License Law of 1955:\n\n1. “Board” means the Construction Industries Board;\n\n2. “Committee” means the State Committee of Plumbing Examiners\n\nappointed by the Construction Industries Board;\n\n3. “Plumbing Hearing Board” means the State Plumbing Hearing\n\nBoard which shall consist of a designee of the Construction\n\nIndustries Board, as chair, and the members of the State Committee\n\nof Plumbing Examiners;\n\n4. “Apprentice” or “plumber’s apprentice” means any person\n\nsixteen (16) years of age or older who, as the principal occupation\n\nof the person, is engaged in learning and assisting in the\n\ninstallation of plumbing under the direct supervision of a licensed\n\njourneyman plumber or plumbing contractor;\n\n5. “Journeyman plumber” means any person other than a master\n\nplumber or plumbing contractor who engages in or works at the actual\n\ninstallation, alteration, repair and/or renovation of plumbing;\n\n6. “Temporary journeyman plumber” means any person other than a\n\nperson permanently licensed as a journeyman plumber, master plumber,\n\nor plumbing contractor in this state who meets the temporary\n\nlicensure requirements of Section 1006.1 of this title;\n\n7. “Master plumber” is a term used and defined under laws which\n\nhave been repealed. A person formerly known as a master plumber is\n\nhenceforth to be known as a “plumbing contractor” as defined in this\n\nsection;\n\n8. “Plumbing contractor” means any person who is skilled in the\n\nplanning, superintending, and practical installation of plumbing and\n\nwho is familiar with the laws and rules governing the same. This\n\ndefinition may be construed to mean any person who has qualified and\n\nis licensed under The Plumbing License Law of 1955 as a plumbing\n\ncontractor, who may operate as an individual, a firm, partnership,\n\nlimited liability company, or corporation, or other legal entity to\n\nengage in the business of plumbing, or the business of contracting\n\nto do plumbing, or furnish labor or materials or both for the\n\ninstallation, repair, maintenance, or renovation of plumbing\n\naccording to the requirements of The Plumbing License Law of 1955;\n\n9. “Plumbing” means, and includes:\n\na. all piping, fixtures, appurtenances and appliances\n\nfor, and in connection with, a supply of water within\n\nor adjacent to any building, structure, or conveyance,\n\non the premises and to the connection with a water\n\nmain or other source of supply,\n\nb. all piping, fixtures, appurtenances and appliances for\n\nsanitary drainage or storm drainage facilities,\n\nincluding venting systems for such facilities, within\n\nor adjacent to any building, structure, or conveyance,\n\non the premises and to the connection with a public\n\ndisposal system or other acceptable terminal,\n\nc. the installation, repair, maintenance and renovation\n\nof all piping, fixtures, appurtenances and appliances\n\nfor a supply of water, or for the disposal of waste\n\nwater, liquid waste, or sewage within or adjacent to\n\nany building, structure, or conveyance, on the\n\npremises and to the source of supply of water or point\n\nof disposal of wastes, and\n\nd. the installation, repair and maintenance of radiant-\n\nfloor heating system piping in residential homes with\n\ncapacities no greater than one hundred thousand\n\n(100,000) BTU’s using only piping approved by the most\n\ncurrent adopted edition of the International\n\nMechanical Code; and\n\n10. “Variance and Appeals Board” means the Oklahoma State\n\nPlumbing Installation Code Variance and Appeals Board.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"62443dee58c3ade6f51d0f114c617b8ffce20b2aab1955491e1a7189e6b43e45","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1002.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1004"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
