There is hereby established the Committee of Roofing\n\nExaminers, which shall consist of seven (7) members. All members\n\nshall be legal residents of the United States and shall be residents\n\nof this state. Members shall hold office for terms of two (2) years\n\nor until their successors have been appointed and qualified.\n\nB. Members of the Committee shall be appointed as follows:\n\n1. One member shall be appointed by the Governor and shall be a\n\nlicensed architect with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in\n\ncommercial roof design. This member shall be selected from a list\n\nof at least three qualified and eligible architects submitted by a\n\nstate organization representing architects;\n\n2. One member shall be appointed by the Governor and shall be a\n\nlicensed engineer with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in\n\ncommercial roof design. This member shall be selected from a list\n\nof at least three qualified and eligible engineers submitted by a\n\nstate organization representing engineers;\n\n3. Two members shall be appointed by the President Pro Tempore\n\nof the Senate and shall be registered roofing contractors with a\n\nvalid commercial roofer endorsement, except for the initial\n\nappointees who shall be otherwise qualified to hold a commercial\n\nroofer endorsement, each who work primarily in commercial roofing\n\ncontractor work with a minimum of five (5) years' actual job\n\nexperience in commercial roofing contractor work in this state and\n\nwho are registered pursuant to the Roofing Contractor Registration\n\nAct, and otherwise meet all requirements for endorsement in this\n\nact;\n\n4. Two members shall be appointed by the Speaker of the House\n\nof Representatives and shall be registered roofing contractors, each\n\nwho work primarily in residential roofing contractor work with a\n\nminimum of five (5) years' actual job experience in residential\n\nroofing contractor work in this state and who are registered\n\npursuant to the Roofing Contractor Registration Act, and otherwise\n\nmeet all requirements for endorsement in this act; and\n\n5. One member shall be appointed by the Construction Industries\n\nBoard and shall be a licensed or certified building and construction\n\ninspector who is a member of a statewide organization representing\n\ncertified building inspectors with a minimum of five (5) years'\n\nactual job experience in building code inspections. This member\n\nshall be selected from a list of at least three qualified and\n\neligible inspectors submitted by a state organization representing\n\ninspectors.\n\nC. Any vacancy on the Committee shall be filled for the\n\nunexpired term as soon as possible in the manner in which that\n\nposition was originally filled. Members shall continue in office\n\nuntil a successor is appointed by the appointing authority. The\n\nappointing authority shall fill all vacancies and unexpired terms in\n\nthe same manner as the original appointment of the member whose\n\nposition is to be filled. Such members may be removed by the\n\nappointing authority at any time.\n\nD. A majority of the Committee shall constitute a quorum for\n\nthe transaction of business, and the Committee shall elect a chair\n\nfrom its number. Each member shall receive reimbursement for travel\n\nexpenses in accordance with the provisions of the State Travel\n\nReimbursement Act.
