There shall be a question on the application and renewal\n\nforms requiring the applicant to answer under oath whether or not\n\nthe applicant has been convicted of a felony offense in this state,\n\nanother state, or any other place, and the nature of that offense\n\nupon which a conviction was imposed. The registrar shall provide\n\neither on the application and renewal forms or by separate notice a\n\nstatement describing the requirement under state law to register\n\nupon entering this state to reside or work if the person has been\n\nconvicted of a sex offense.\n\nB. Conviction of an offense shall not disqualify a person from\n\nregistration as a roofing contractor under this act; provided, the\n\napplicant has truthfully disclosed the conviction and nature of the\n\noffense.\n\nC. When deemed appropriate, the registrar may conduct a\n\ncriminal history records search or background check on any applicant\n\nor registered roofing contractor and may investigate the information\n\nsubmitted on a roofing contractor application or renewal form;\n\nprovided, no adverse action may be taken against the person until\n\nthe person has been notified and given an opportunity to respond in\n\nwriting.\n\nD. The registrar, its agents, employees and assigns shall not be\n\nliable and are granted immunity for the acts or omissions of any\n\nregistered roofing contractor or its employees, or for any person’s\n\nfailure or omission to properly disclose any information on an\n\napplication or renewal form, including, but not limited to, pending\n\ncriminal charges, arrests or prior criminal history records,\n\ndisclosure of his or her roofing contractor registration status, or\n\nhis or her qualifications to perform or act as a roofing contractor.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"703049d3f26a35b0bc6486fca01d8d0bbb15b634fa775562c3c9ba217ae9654a","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1151.5","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-1151.7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
