Stat. tit. 59, § 59-1261.5","heading":"Provisional licenses","body":"Upon certification by the State Board of Licensed Social\n\nWorkers, the Board shall authorize the issuance of provisional\n\nlicenses to persons who have met all qualifications for licensure\n\nunder provisions of the Social Worker's Licensing Act except passage\n\nof the required examination. Such persons shall, upon payment of\n\nthe necessary fee and submission of documentation as required by the\n\nBoard, be issued a provisional license subject to the following\n\nprovisions:\n\n1. If a person subsequently fails the examination, upon receipt\n\nand recording of the person's examination score by the Board, such\n\nperson may retake the examination every ninety (90) days until the\n\nperson passes, or until one (1) year from the date of issuance of\n\nthe provisional license;\n\n2. Upon receipt and recording of a person's passing score by\n\nthe Board, the provisional license will be replaced by a permanent\n\nlicense; and\n\n3. Upon a person's failure to pass the examination within one\n\n(1) year from the date the provisional license was issued, that\n\nlicense will be automatically revoked. A new application may be\n\nsubmitted by the individual who fails to pass the exam within one\n\n(1) year of their approval date, however, for the licensed clinical\n\nsocial worker (LCSW), licensed social worker with administration\n\nspecialty (LSWAD), and licensed social worker (LSW), the applicant\n\nmust be under board approved supervision prior to the submission of\n\na new application requesting license.\n\na. Those seeking to re-apply for licensure past their\n\nprovisional year must remain under supervision until\n\nsuch time the Board office confirms a passing score\n\nfor the appropriate licensure exam.\n\nb. If an applicant is unable to pass the appropriate\n\nlicensure exam during the provisional year or two\n\nsubsequent approval years, the applicant may not apply\n\nfor licensure again until they have completed an\n\nadditional 4000 hours of supervised practice with a\n\nBoard approved supervisor. If completed by the\n\napplicant, the Board may approve up to two additional\n\nyears of examination testing.\n\nc.
