Stat. tit. 59, § 59-1281","heading":"Purpose of Compact","body":"The purpose of this Compact is to facilitate interstate practice\n\nof Regulated Social Workers by improving public access to competent\n\nSocial Work Services. The Compact preserves the regulatory\n\nauthority of States to protect public health and safety through the\n\ncurrent system of State licensure.\n\nThis Compact is designed to achieve the following objectives:\n\nA. Increase public access to Social Work Services;\n\nB. Reduce overly burdensome and duplicative requirements\n\nassociated with holding multiple licenses;\n\nC. Enhance the Member States’ ability to protect the public’s\n\nhealth and safety;\n\nD. Encourage the cooperation of Member States in regulating\n\nmultistate practice;\n\nE. Promote mobility and address workforce shortages by\n\neliminating the necessity for licenses in multiple states by\n\nproviding for the mutual recognition of other Member State licenses;\n\nF. Support military families;\n\nG. Facilitate the exchange of licensure and disciplinary\n\ninformation among Member States;\n\nH. Authorize all Member States to hold a Regulated Social\n\nWorker accountable for abiding by a Member State’s laws,\n\nregulations, and applicable professional standards in the Member\n\nState in which the client is located at the time care is rendered;\n\nand\n\nI.
