In order to be eligible to take the examination required to\n\nbe licensed as a bail bondsman, each person shall complete not less\n\nthan sixteen (16) clock hours of education in subjects pertinent to\n\nthe duties and responsibilities of a bail bondsman, including all\n\nlaws and regulations related thereto. Further, each licensee shall\n\ncomplete biennially not less than sixteen (16) clock hours of\n\ncontinuing education in the subjects prior to renewal of the\n\nlicense. Such continuing education shall not include a written or\n\noral examination.\n\nProvided, any person licensed as a bail bondsman prior to\n\nNovember 1, 1989, shall not be required to complete sixteen (16)\n\nclock hours of education prior to licensure but shall be subject to\n\nthe sixteen-hour continuing education requirement in order to renew\n\nthe license, except that a licensed bail bondsman who is sixty-five\n\n(65) years of age or older and who has been licensed as a bail\n\nbondsman for fifteen (15) years or more shall be exempt from both\n\nthe education and continuing education requirements of this section.\n\nB. Education shall be provided for bail bondsman licensure as\n\nrequired by this section; provided that the Insurance Commissioner\n\nshall approve the courses offered and provided further such\n\neducation meets the general standards for education established by\n\nthe Insurance Commissioner.\n\nThe education provider shall submit biennially a fee of Two\n\nHundred Dollars ($200.00), payable to the Insurance Commissioner\n\nwhich shall be deposited with the State Treasurer for the purposes\n\nof fulfilling and accomplishing the conditions and purposes of this\n\nsection.\n\nC. Any person who falsely represents to the Insurance\n\nCommissioner that compliance with this section has been met shall be\n\nsubject, after notice and hearing, to the penalties and fines set\n\nout in Section 1310 of this title.\n\nD.
