Stat. tit. 59, § 59-1352","heading":"Definitions","body":"\n\nIn the Psychologists Licensing Act, unless the context otherwise\n\nrequires:\n\n1. \"Board\" means the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners of\n\nPsychologists;\n\n2. \"Psychologist\" means a person who represents himself or\n\nherself to be a psychologist by using any title or description of\n\nservices incorporating the words \"psychology\", \"psychological\", or\n\n\"psychologist\", or by offering to the public or rendering to\n\nindividuals or to groups of individuals services defined as the\n\npractice of psychology. A psychologist shall not be entitled to use\n\nthe term \"physician\" in any title or designation or in any\n\ndescription of services performed by the psychologist unless such\n\npsychologist is otherwise authorized to use such designation by\n\nSection 725.2 of this title;\n\n3. \"Practice of psychology\" means the observation, description,\n\nevaluation, interpretation, and modification of human behavior by\n\nthe application of psychological principles, methods, and\n\nprocedures, for the purpose of preventing or eliminating\n\nsymptomatic, maladaptive, or undesired behavior and of enhancing\n\ninterpersonal relationships, work and life adjustment, personal\n\neffectiveness, behavioral health, and mental health. The practice\n\nof psychology, a branch of the healing arts, includes, but is not\n\nlimited to, psychological testing and the evaluation or assessment\n\nof personal characteristics, such as intelligence, personality,\n\nabilities, interests, aptitudes, and neuropsychological functioning;\n\ncounseling, psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, hypnosis, biofeedback,\n\nand behavior analysis and therapy; diagnosis and treatment of mental\n\nand emotional disorder or disability, alcoholism and substance\n\nabuse, disorders of habit or conduct, as well as of the\n\npsychological aspects of physical illness, accident, injury, or\n\ndisability; and psychoeducational evaluation, therapy, remediation,\n\nand consultation. Psychological services may be rendered to\n\nindividuals, families, groups, and the public. The practice of\n\npsychology shall be construed within the meaning of this definition\n\nwithout regard to whether payment is received for services rendered;\n\n4. \"Health service\" means the delivery of direct, preventive,\n\nassessment and therapeutic intervention services to individuals\n\nwhose growth, adjustment, or functioning is actually impaired or may\n\nbe at risk of impairment; and\n\n5. \"Health service psychologist\" means an individual licensed\n\nas a psychologist under the Psychologists Licensing Act to provide\n\nhealth services to the public and who engages in the direct practice\n\nof psychology and evidences two (2) years of formal supervised\n\nexperience conducting psychological intervention services as defined\n\nby the rules and regulations of the Board. Effective September 1,\n\n1993, \"clinical psychologist\" and \"licensed clinical psychologist\"\n\nshall mean \"health service psychologist\".
