Stat. tit. 59, § 59-1378","heading":"Legislative findings","body":"The Oklahoma Legislature makes the following findings:\n\nStates license psychologists in order to protect the public\n\nthrough verification of education, training and experience and\n\nensure accountability for professional practice.\n\nThis Compact is intended to regulate the day-to-day practice of\n\ntelepsychology, which is the provision of psychological services\n\nusing telecommunication technologies, by psychologists across state\n\nboundaries in the performance of their psychological practice as\n\nassigned by an appropriate authority.\n\nThis Compact is intended to regulate the temporary in-person,\n\nface-to-face practice of psychology by psychologists across state\n\nboundaries for thirty (30) days within a calendar year in the\n\nperformance of their psychological practice as assigned by an\n\nappropriate authority.\n\nThis Compact is intended to authorize state psychology\n\nregulatory authorities to afford legal recognition, in a manner\n\nconsistent with the terms of the Compact, to psychologists licensed\n\nin another state.\n\nThis Compact recognizes that states have a vested interest in\n\nprotecting the public's health and safety through their licensing\n\nand regulation of psychologists and that such state regulation will\n\nbest protect the public health and safety.\n\nThis Compact does not apply when a psychologist is licensed in\n\nboth the home and receiving states.\n\nThis Compact does not apply to permanent in-person, face-to-face\n\npractice, but it does allow for the authorization of temporary\n\npsychological practice.\n\nConsistent with these principles, this Compact is designed to\n\nachieve the following purposes and objectives:\n\n1. Increase public access to professional psychological\n\nservices by allowing for telepsychological practice across state\n\nlines, as well as temporary in-person, face-to-face services, into a\n\nstate in which the psychologist is not licensed to practice\n\npsychology;\n\n2. Enhance the states' ability to protect the public's health\n\nand safety, especially client/patient safety;\n\n3. Encourage the cooperation of the compact states in the areas\n\nof psychology licensure and regulation;\n\n4. Facilitate the exchange of information between the compact\n\nstates regarding psychologist licensure, adverse actions and\n\ndisciplinary history;\n\n5. Promote compliance with the laws governing psychological\n\npractice in each compact state; and\n\n6.
