Stat. tit. 59, § 59-15.1","heading":"Short title - Declaration of policy","body":"Section 15.1 et seq. of this title shall be known and may be\n\ncited as the “Oklahoma Accountancy Act”.\n\nIn order to protect the citizens of this state, the Legislature\n\nhereby declares that it is the policy of this state, and the purpose\n\nof this act, to promote the reliability of information that is used\n\nfor guidance in financial transactions or for accounting for or\n\nassessing the financial status or performance of commercial,\n\nnoncommercial and governmental enterprises. The public interest\n\nrequires that persons professing special competence in accountancy\n\nor offering assurance as to the reliability or fairness of\n\npresentation of such information shall have demonstrated their\n\nqualifications to do so, that persons who have not demonstrated and\n\nmaintained such qualifications, not be permitted to represent\n\nthemselves as having such special competence or to offer such\n\nassurance, that the conduct of registrants as having special\n\ncompetence in accountancy be regulated in all aspects of their\n\nprofessional work, that a public authority competent to prescribe\n\nand assess the qualifications and to regulate the conduct of\n\nregistrants be established, and that the use of titles that have a\n\ncapacity or tendency to deceive the public as to the status or\n\ncompetence of the persons using such titles be prohibited.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"c14205cc5822c954514d00a7ef1c999c000aaf4f3f5f4f8c473e1294d27a0044","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-149.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-15.10"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
