Stat. tit. 59, § 59-15.2","heading":"Oklahoma Accountancy Board - Membership - Qualifications","body":"- Terms.\n\nA. There is hereby re-created, to continue until July 1, 2028,\n\nin accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma Sunset Law, the\n\nOklahoma Accountancy Board. The Oklahoma Accountancy Board shall\n\nhave the responsibility for administering and enforcing the Oklahoma\n\nAccountancy Act. The Oklahoma Accountancy Board shall be composed\n\nof seven (7) members, who shall have professional or practical\n\nexperience in the use of accounting services and financial matters,\n\nso as to be qualified to make judgments about the qualifications and\n\nconduct of persons and firms subject to regulation under the\n\nOklahoma Accountancy Act to be appointed by the Governor and\n\nconfirmed by the Senate. The number of registrant members shall not\n\nbe more than five, not including a firm, who shall serve terms of\n\nfive (5) years. No member who has served two successive complete\n\nterms shall be eligible for reappointment, but an appointment to\n\nfill an unexpired term shall not be considered a complete term for\n\nthis purpose. One public member shall serve coterminously with the\n\nGovernor appointing the public member. The other public member\n\nshall serve a term of five (5) years.\n\nB. Five members shall be certified public accountants holding\n\ncertificates and four shall hold permits issued pursuant to the\n\nprovisions of the Oklahoma Accountancy Act, at least four of whom\n\nshall have been engaged in the practice of public accounting as a\n\ncertified public accountant continuously for not less than five (5)\n\nout of the last fifteen (15) years immediately preceding their\n\nappointments. A list of qualified persons shall be compiled and\n\nsubmitted to the Governor by the Oklahoma Society of Certified\n\nPublic Accountants from time to time as appointments of the\n\ncertified public accountant Board members are required. A list of\n\nthree names shall be submitted for each single appointment from\n\nwhich the Governor may make the appointment.\n\nC. Two members shall be public members who are not certified\n\npublic accountants. One public member shall be appointed by the\n\nGovernor to a term coterminous with the Governor, to serve at his or\n\nher pleasure. The other public member shall serve a term of five\n\n(5) years and have professional or practical experience in the use\n\nof accounting services and financial matters. A list of qualified\n\npersons shall be compiled and submitted to the Governor by the\n\nOklahoma Society of Public Accountants, Oklahoma Society of\n\nCertified Public Accountants, or successor organizations from time\n\nto time as appointment of the Board member is required. A list of\n\nthree (3) names shall be submitted for each single appointment from\n\nwhich the Governor may make the appointment.\n\nD.
