Stat. tit. 59, § 59-15.25","heading":"Misrepresentation or fraud - Violations of act -","body":"Penalty.\n\nAny individual or entity who:\n\n1. Represents himself, herself or itself as having received a\n\ncertificate, license, or permit and otherwise presents himself,\n\nherself or itself to the public as having specialized knowledge or\n\nskills associated with CPAs and PAs without having received such\n\ncertificate, license, or permit; or\n\n2. Continues to use such title or designation after such\n\ncertificate, license, or permit has been recalled, revoked,\n\nsurrendered, canceled, or suspended or refuses to surrender such\n\ncertificate, license, or permit; or\n\n3. Falsely represents himself, herself or itself as being a CPA\n\nor licensed as a public accountant, or firm of CPAs or licensed\n\npublic accountants, or who incorrectly designates the character of\n\nthe certificate, license or permit which he, she or it holds; or\n\n4. Otherwise violates any of the provisions of the Oklahoma\n\nAccountancy Act;\n\nupon conviction shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.\n\nProvided, however, that an individual granted practice\n\nprivileges under Section 15.12A of this title or a firm exempt from\n\nthe permit and registration requirements under Section 15.15C of\n\nthis title or paragraph 3 of subsection A of Section 15.15 of this\n\ntitle may hold out as a CPA or a firm of CPAs, respectively, without\n\nviolation of this section.","path":["OK Code","Title 59"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os59.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"930bed00e6d8092a35b45e6a4888819e1615ee328fa893e6ea3d5be542e4cf85","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-15.24","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-59-59-15.26"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
