To be eligible for licensure by the Board of Examiners for\n\nSpeech-Language Pathology and Audiology as a speech-language\n\npathologist, the applicant must:\n\n1. Hold not less than a master's degree, or the equivalent,\n\nwith a major emphasis in speech-language pathology or audiology from\n\na regionally accredited academic institution offering a graduate\n\nprogram in speech-language pathology or audiology that meets or\n\nexceeds prevailing national standards;\n\n2. Submit evidence of completion of supervised clinical\n\npracticum experience that meets or exceeds prevailing national\n\nstandards from a regionally accredited educational institution or\n\nits cooperating programs, the content of which shall be approved by\n\nthe Board and delineated in the rules;\n\n3. Submit evidence of completion of supervised postgraduate\n\nprofessional experience as approved by the Board and described in\n\nthe rules;\n\n4. Obtain a passing score on examinations approved by the\n\nBoard. The Board shall determine the score required to pass an\n\nexamination. An applicant who fails the examination may retake the\n\nexamination in accordance with the timeline and procedures of the\n\napproved testing organization, and the rules promulgated by the\n\nBoard;\n\n5. Attest to their status as either a United States citizen, a\n\nUnited States noncitizen national or a qualified alien;\n\n6. Have not committed any acts described in Section 1619 of\n\nthis title for which disciplinary action may be justified; and\n\n7. Make application to the Board upon a form prescribed by the\n\nBoard and pay to the Board the application fee.\n\nB. To be eligible for initial licensure by the Board as an\n\naudiologist, the applicant must:\n\n1. Hold not less than a post-baccalaureate residential or post-\n\nmasters' distance education professional Doctor of Audiology (AuD)\n\ndegree, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree with an emphasis in\n\naudiology or its equivalent as determined by the Board;\n\n2. If applying with a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) professional\n\ndegree, demonstrate preparation that includes three (3) years of\n\ndidactic coursework and clinical education equivalent to a twelve-\n\nmonth full-time rotation or externship;\n\n3. Submit to the Board a copy of the Doctor of Audiology (AuD)\n\ndiploma and a transcript demonstrating clinical experience\n\nequivalent to a twelve-month full-time clinical rotation or\n\nexternship; a copy of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) diploma with an\n\nemphasis in audiology and a transcript reflecting a twelve-month\n\nfull-time clinical rotation or externship, or their equivalents as\n\ndetermined by the Board; provided, such equivalents shall be from an\n\naccredited academic institution in order to demonstrate completion\n\nof the clinical rotation or externship requirements;\n\n4. Obtain a passing score on examinations approved by the\n\nBoard. The Board shall determine the score required to pass an\n\nexamination. An applicant who fails the examination may retake the\n\nexamination in accordance with the timeline and procedures of the\n\napproved testing organization, and the rules promulgated by the\n\nBoard;\n\n5. Attest to their status as either a United States citizen, a\n\nUnited States noncitizen national or a qualified alien;\n\n6. Have not committed any acts described in Section 1619 of\n\nthis title for which disciplinary action may be justified; and\n\n7. Make application to the Board upon a form prescribed by the\n\nBoard and pay to the Board the application fee.\n\nC. To be eligible for licensure by the Board as a speech-\n\nlanguage pathology clinical fellow, the applicant must currently be\n\nin the process of fulfilling the supervised clinical fellowship\n\nrequired by this section and possess a designation of the title\n\n\"Clinical Fellow\" indicating the status appropriate to the\n\napplicant's level of training. To be eligible for licensure as a\n\nclinical fellow, the applicant shall meet all requirements specified\neech-\n\nlanguage pathology clinical fellow, the applicant must currently be\n\nin the process of fulfilling the supervised clinical fellowship\n\nrequired by this section and possess a designation of the title\n\n\"Clinical Fellow\" indicating the status appropriate to the\n\napplicant's level of training. To be eligible for licensure as a\n\nclinical fellow, the applicant shall meet all requirements specified\n\nby paragraphs 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 of subsection A of this section.\n\nSpeech-language pathologist applicants completing the supervised\n\npostgraduate professional experience in this state shall possess a\n\nlicense issued by the Board.\n\nD. To be eligible for licensure by the Board as a speech-\n\nlanguage pathology or audiology assistant, the applicant must be\n\nassisting in the practice of speech-language pathology or audiology\n\nwhile under the supervision of a licensed speech-language\n\npathologist or audiologist, subject to the rules of the Board. The\n\nlicensed speech-language pathologist or audiologist is legally and\n\nethically responsible for the professional activities of such\n\nlicensees.\n\nE. To be eligible for licensure by the Board as a speech-\n\nlanguage pathologist, audiologist, speech-language clinical fellow\n\nor speech-language pathology assistant, the applicant must meet all\n\nthe requirements specified in this section. The Board may authorize\n\nthe executive secretary to issue a temporary license upon\n\nverification that the applicant meets all applicable requirements of\n\nlicensure. A temporary license shall authorize the applicant to\n\npractice speech-language pathology or audiology for the time period\n\nbetween the submission of the application and the applicant's\n\napproval for licensure by the Board.
