Applications to provide chiropractic continuing education\n\nseminars shall be submitted for review and approval by the Board of\n\nChiropractic Examiners. An applicant shall submit to the Board for\n\napproval:\n\n1. An application to provide continuing education in this\n\nstate;\n\n2. The agenda for the continuing education seminar;\n\n3. The professional background of the instructors; and\n\n4. A summary of the courses to be taught at the continuing\n\neducation seminar.\n\nB. Prior to approval of an application, the Board may authorize\n\nthe Executive Director to temporarily approve applications, or\n\namendments to an application, pursuant to the requirements specified\n\nby this section and the rules approved by the Board for continuing\n\neducation programs. Continuing education credits may only be\n\ncounted for seminars receiving final Board approval.\n\nC. A continuing education program shall offer seminars\n\nproviding continuing education on those subjects within the scope of\n\npractice of chiropractic as well as those technical, professional,\n\nand practical subjects that relate to the practice of chiropractic\n\nas included in Section 161.8 of this title. Instructors at\n\ncontinuing education seminars may sell products as long as the sale\n\nof such products is ancillary to the purpose of the seminar.\n\nD. Each year a chiropractic physician must attend sixteen (16)\n\nhours of continuing education. Twelve (12) hours must be within the\n\nscope of practice of chiropractic as well as those technical,\n\nprofessional, and practical subjects that relate to the practice of\n\nchiropractic as included in Section 161.8 of this title. A maximum\n\nof four (4) hours may be non-clinical in nature.\n\nE. A maximum of eight (8) hours of the annual Oklahoma\n\ncontinuing education requirements may be obtained by a continuing\n\neducation program outside this state if the out-of-state continuing\n\neducation program is approved by the Board.\n\nF. Chiropractic physicians who have not been in active practice\n\nduring the previous year shall be exempt from that calendar year's\n\ncontinuing education requirements. However, prior to returning to\n\nactive practice, the chiropractor must have attended the required\n\ncontinuing education during the previous calendar year.\n\nG. All licensed chiropractic physicians must attend a minimum\n\nof eight (8) hours of in-state continuing education programs\n\napproved by the Board of Chiropractic Examiners.\n\nH. The Board may waive the requirements for continuing\n\neducation, if the licensee was prevented from attending by illness\n\nor extenuating circumstances, as determined by the Board.
