Stat. tit. 59, § 59-1628","heading":"Applicants for certification - Qualifications","body":"Each applicant for certification as a welding inspector shall\n\nhave the following qualifications:\n\n1. Maintenance experience involving the detection and\n\nmeasurement of weld inadequacies or discontinuities in accordance\n\nwith specified procedures;\n\n2. Repair experience involving the repair or replacement of\n\nwelds that were determined inadequate or defective by reference to a\n\ncode, standard, specification or drawing;\n\n3. Familiarity with and understanding of the fundamentals of\n\nthe following processes:\n\na. shielded metal arc welding,\n\nb. stud arc welding,\n\nc. submerged arc welding,\n\nd. flux cored arc welding,\n\ne. gas metal arc welding,\n\nf. gas tungsten arc welding,\n\ng. electroslag welding,\n\nh. oxyfuel gas welding,\n\ni. brazing,\n\nj. thermal cutting, and\n\nk. mechanical cutting.\n\nCutting processes refer only to those processes that are applied to\n\nthe fabrication and repair of weldments;\n\n4. Capability in writing clear and concise reports and\n\nmaintaining records; and\n\n5.
